Here at Woosh we are delighted and proud to support our British soldiers (heroes in our eyes), for another year! We received a beautiful letter of thanks from Captain A R G Harris of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. It was rather exciting as it looked very important with its regimental coat of arms and thick creamy paper.Since it's formation in 1968, this Regimental Headquarters has been responsible for providing welfare and benevolence to serving and retired soldiers, their families and dependents. Members of the Regiment are deployed on operations in Afghanistan and in many other countries around the world.
We also had a letter from James Caddick, who is the Director of fundraising at Regiment Support Service. Here's what he had to say:
"On behalf of The Regiment Support Service I would like to thank you for your very kind generosity in helping to support the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in 2016. It is only through the support of people like yourself that we are able to financially assist the regimental charities of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Your support is greatly appreciated especially at a time when the financial climate has been extremely difficult for many businesses in the United Kingdom."
One way of raising money for welfare and benevolence is to produce a Regimental diary for issue and sale to soldiers and civilians. The diary is produced on our behalf by The Regiment Support Service and is done by voluntary sponsorship from the public (that's us!). The donations helps serving and old soldiers who fall on hard times. We have been provided with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Regiment singed by The Colonel of the Regiment, which we can't wait to show off.
"It is most reassuring for soldiers to know that they are supported by the general public through organisations such as yours and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kindness and support."
Captain A R G Harris
